'by instinct'
The creative process of 'By Instinct' involves multi-layered work, crafted to achieve a visually appealing result.
With the base of putties, mortars and other materials, I begin a dance of textures and shapes that build a surface that invites me to explore; then adding, in fresco, a transparent material that provides me with a veil where the underlying layers appear amorphous and revealing.
Finally, the addition of ink, a medium I love for its fluid and spontaneous nature, gives the narrative of the work the organic form I sense. This set allows for an interplay between light, shadow and reflection, which instills depth and intrigue.
The aesthetics of 'By Instinct' tries to captivate the viewer with an enigmatic fusion of colors and textures; wanting to be a harmonious pact of chaos and order. An invitation to share the language of intuition and subjective interpretations.
I hope that these works come to represent the beauty of abstraction and find solace in instinctive creation.
